Day 4 Orphanage

Our day started out with a visit to the orphanage right down the road from where I am living. It is an all girls orphanage with about 40 little ones, ranging in age from 2 to 16 years. I was very happy to see that the orphanage is very well kept, and a decent place for the girls to live.

Most of the girls in this orphanage do have families, however they just don't have the means to take care of thier children. There are nuns to take care of the girls, and the orphanage is mainly Catholic church funded.

The girls have a very schedualed day, and I found that they are very self-sufficient. They help with chores around the orphanage such as yard maitenance, dishes, keeping their room tidy etc. Although most of the girls are very young, they are very well behaved. They help each other with their hair each day, they attend school, and many other activities. The girls were soooooo cute. They were so eager to show us their toys, and to sing for us especially. They were very talented and I could see that there was a lot of potential in these girls.
We spent the morning with the girls and it was great! Since there are 40 girls at the orphanage it is hard for the nuns to spend a lot of one on one time with each girl. So when they have visitors it is great because the girls have new people to play with, and more people to love them. After all, love is what makes everyone stronger.
